I have a little network of squid caches and I would like the main proxy to
use one proxy for one domain.

Let's say : for access to *.fr domains
and : for access to *.us *.edu (etc.)

I think it's possible with cache_host_domain and neighbor_type_domain, so
I do this on my main proxy :

cache_host parent 8080 3130 proxy-only
cache_host parent 8080 3130 proxy-only

cache_host_domain .fr !.com !.net !.gov !.edu !.us
cache_host_domain .com .net .gov .edu .us !.fr

neighbor_type_domain parent .com .net .gov .edu .us
neighbor_type_domain parent .fr

Now the questions :

1) am I right ?

2) It would be smarter to use IANA addresses, do you have a hint how to
use IP addresses instead of domain names?

3) my is connected to the net by satellite, it's very cool
for downloads, but the ping is 600ms at least... how to tell this to

Thanks for your reply

PS: *ANY* balancing exprience interests me
