patch installation

I have issued this command but my machine did not do anything
for 30 minutes!
turkey:/usr/users/staff/yurtesen/squid/squid-1.NOVM.22>patch -p1 squid-1.NOVM.22.rebuild_corruption.patch
I am using freebsd 2.2.6 release
did I do something wrong?
