"hierarchy_stoplist" doesn't stop squid from caching of objects, it
prevents squid from fetching via parents.
(Hmmm - "hierarchy_stoplist" seems to be obsoleted by "never_direct")

If you use squid>=1.2 you should take something like this:

acl localdomain dstdomain
no_cache deny localdomain

(And if you use 2.0:
 * kill squid
 * wait until it's completly dead
 * maybe remove your swap.logs (I do!) and then
 * restart squid.)

Oh, there's an entry in the FAQ:
