squid 2.0.2 and FTP site full

Trying to FTP to ftp.gamesdomain.com I get:

% ftp ftp.gamesdomain.com
Connected to ftp.gamesdomain.com.
421 Sorry, ftp1.gamesdomain.com already has 102 users logged on. Try again in 10 minutes.

If I go through squid it tells me:

   ERROR
   
   The requested URL could not be retrieved
   
   An FTP protocol error occurred while trying to retrieve the URL:
   ftp://ftp.gamesdomain.com/pub/demos/motoracer2.zip
   
   Squid sent the following FTP command:
   
   and then received this reply
   
   This might be caused by an FTP URL with an absolute path (which does
   not comply with RFC 1738). If this is the cause, then the file can be
   found at ftp://ftp.gamesdomain.com/%2f/pub/demos/motoracer2.zip.

Is this bug known, and is there a fix for it or should I start
digging into the code myself? My users are bugging me about this ..
