2.1.patch2 on Irix 6.5 - xstrdup

Just tried to build 2.1.patch2 on Irix 6.5
Make fails with ld32: ERROR 33: Unresolved text symbol "xstrdup" -- 1st
referenced by cf_gen.o.
and previously
ld32: WARNING 126: The archive ../lib/libmiscutil.a defines no global
symbols. Ignoring.
which I presume is the root of the problem.

Anyone else ?
