Squid DNS Problem

Hi,
We are using squid.2-1.Pre1 on slackware 2.0.36 box.
Strangely as seen in cache.log output DNS servers are exciting.
And then it is trying to start another squid process, and giving the
error. And traffic is totally stopping.
Squid does not perform DNS lookups for the clients, each client is making
dns resolution by itself, and requesting the web from the squid .
Until now there wasn't such a problem. I tried 2.1.Patch2,Release versions,
but the same problem, it seems that the problem is caused from the box,
but why and what is it?
