No such algorithm. Think you are asking for the refresh expiry
algorithm.

a) Expires: earlier than now
b) age > (Last-Modified - Date) * lmt_factor (from refresh_pattern) is
less than the object age.
c) If no Expires or Last-Modified is available, then age > min_age (from
refresh_pattern)
