How to add pictures in the error message pages ?

Hi,
i'm rewriting the Error Messages pages which are located
in /usr/local/softs/squid/etc/errors on my Linux Proxy.
If I add a <img src="test.gif"> in these files and
put the test.gif file in the same directory where my errors
pages are, the pictures aren't shown on the pages. I don't
understand why ?
