Select loop failed!

Hello.

I found a problem with my squid (2.3STABLE2). The ethernet card was stalled
(no packets in/out), but when I made a ifconfig the eth0 was running. Then
I made a netstat -nC -ee and all the routes were closed. Well, the I
checked the syslog and I found the next error

Mar 28 21:13:29 yoda (squid): Select Loop failed!

What does it mean?

Could the squid "stall" my ethernet card?

Any ideas?
