When compiling 2.2.16, did you apply the combined errata patch? The stock
2.2.16 kernel is riddled with bugs, including a bug in software raid. Have

Yeah, it still eludes me why RedHat includes raidtools 0.90 in their
distro's, when the stock kernels aren't compatible with it. It gives lots
of people a headache when they try to setup a raid system.

Raidtools 0.50 should also be compatible. If you do a ftpsearch for it, a
couple of links should come up.
