Hello,

Actually I am running on Linux 2.0.35 and I would like to install the squid
2.3.STABLE3 on it. It is a production machine and I prefer to no update the
linux kernel.

I have changed these values on linux box:

/proc/sys/kernel/file-max from 1024 to 3072
/proc/sys/kernel/inod-max from 3072 to 9216
/usr/inckude/linux/limits.h from 256 to 3072

but, during the squid configuration, I still have the message:

WARNING: 256 may not be enough filedescriptors if your
cache will be very busy. Please see the FAQ page
         http://squid.nlanr.net/Squid/FAQ/FAQ-11.html#filedescriptors
on how to increase your filedescriptor limit

Any suggestion about?

Thanks,

Agim Cami
