Hi,

I want that my proxy clients access to a bibliographic database.

On the notice of the database (administrator guide), it indicates :
"If your organization uses proxy servers..., the device may need to be
modified to allow transparent pass-through of the Z39.50 protocol on
port 210".

In squid.conf, the port 210 is allowed by default in the acl list :
acl Safe_ports port 80 21 443 563 70 210 1025-65535
...
http_access deny !Safe_ports

But, when I try to connect the database passing by proxy, I can't do
that.

The error message of the database application is :
"Login failed: The network firewall has denied permission for this
computer to access external services".

have you got an idea ?

(note : the computer is allowed to have access to the proxy, with
Netscape by example)
(note2 : when I open the access.log file, there are no connections from
the computer who wants to connect to the database ??)

Thank's a lot for your help...
