Add:
acl user_passwd proxy_auth REQUIRED
http_access allow user_passwd
http_access deny all

Dear Friends,

I am running squid 2.3.STABLE4, successfully, with out any authentication,
but now i wanted to have a ncsa authentication.

For I run the make and make install in:

/usr/local/squid/src/squid-2.3.STABLE4/NCSA

which places the program file in /usr/local/squid/bin

I had also made changes in config file as :

authenticate_program /usr/local/squid/bin/ncsa_auth
/usr/local/squid/etc/passwd

and create a passwd file in /usr/local/squid/bin

with content as:

arun:bharat.w

All as described in guide.

after restarting squid, it does not ask for login and connect to internet.

Can any one help me where i m wrong.
