Richard,

If you want to use Squid as a standard web proxy then just put it on your
LAN, off the HUB if desired. Then to make people use it only allow the
squid Proxy server access to the internet for HTTP, at the firewall level
block all other machines from accessing the Internet using HTTP.

If you want to use it as an transparant proxy then you will need to put it
between your users and the internet, e.g. between your router and your
firewall although for security reasons that may not be ideal!

Hello list,

I am thinking about useing squid. I am wondering
where in you local network squid is placed?
(right behind the router before the hub, behind
the hub, right behind the radius)

Thank you for your time,
Richard Eicher II
