Yes, a few :]
1. Keep replies cc'd to the mailing list. I'm not all-authoritative on
squid, and don't use all the OS's it runs on. By not cc'ing to the list,
no-one else knows you need assistance creating coredumps.
2. http://www.squid-cache.org/Doc/FAQ/FAQ-11.html#ss11.19

3. Look in the man pages or info system for your current OS to get
information about coredumps.

Sorry to be a pain, and sound really stupid, but I cant find where it's
left the core file anywhere ?!? ... it's not in /usr/local/squid/bin
where I ran it from <shrug> .... and I'm not sure how to make a
backtrace file sorry .... any tips ??

Tim.

On an assert you should be able to get a coredump.

Can you generate a backtrace?

Thanks,
Rob

Hi,

I had squid 2.5 setup with NTLM Auth, but it wasn't really working too
well for secure sites and stuff, so I commented it all out in the
squid.conf and all has run well, now I'm adding squidGuard in as a
re-director, and when I'm going to a good site, all is well, but when I
try to visit a blocked site, I get squid dies with the error:

Jul 17 13:53:16 atgproxy1 squid[1446]: assertion failed:
authenticate.c:478: "auth_user_request != NULL"

I downloaded yesterdays snapshot, and recompiled without any NTLM stuff,

but it still crashes, any thoughts ??

Tim.
