Hello,

I have recently upgraded from 2.3STABLE5 to 2.4STABLE2. As I did not trust
my stores I formatted the cache partitions and installed the new version.

However, I am seeing little or no data in the cachemgr.cgi, even though
there are 2000-3000 reqs/min going through the cache via wccp and it has
been running for almost 12 hours. See below:

Squid Object Cache: Version 2.4.STABLE2

Number of HTTP requests received: 538927

        HTTP requests per minute: 3049.3
        Request Hit Ratios: 5min: 33.8%, 60min: 35.0%
        Byte Hit Ratios: 5min: 15.4%, 60min: 17.2%
        Request Memory Hit Ratios: 5min: 4.9%, 60min: 5.5%
        Request Disk Hit Ratios: 5min: 32.5%, 60min: 40.8%

        HTTP Requests (All): 0.00000 0.00000
        Cache Misses: 0.94847 0.94847
        Cache Hits: 0.00000 0.00000
        Near Hits: 0.00000 0.00000
        Not-Modified Replies: 0.00000 0.00000
        DNS Lookups: 0.00000 0.00000
        ICP Queries: 0.00000 0.00000
Page faults with physical i/o: 3862

notice that the only performance statistics I am getting are the "Cache
Misses", and sometimes this value falls to zero too. The following MRTG
variables I was graphing with 2.3S5 are now always zero:

Fauts per second == 0
Hit response == 0
Avg response all requests == 0
Avg response miss (actually this one is ALWAYS 948ms no matter the load)
Avg hit service time == 0

The only "valid" data seems to be the hit ratios and the requests per
second. I have noticed that my "Number of HTTP requests received" is way
under what it should be if I calculate the reqs/sec values over time.

System specs:

Linux 2.2.19
egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)
glibc-2.1.3-22
PIII 800 768MB RAM
3 18G cache stores on reiserfs

cache_dir aufs /usr/local/squid/cache 12000 30 256
cache_dir aufs /usr/local/squid/cache1 14000 34 256
cache_dir aufs /usr/local/squid/cache2 14000 34 256

compiled with:

--enable-snmp --enable-poll --enable-async-io=64
--disable-ident-lookups --enable-storeio=aufs,ufs
--enable-delay-pools --enable-underscores --enable-time-hack

What do we make of this?

Thanks,

Ron
