Put it this way: If you find it's slow for users, check out the native
port.

Squid/Cygwin relies on the cygwin porting layer - which I'm also a
developer for - but that same layer introduces various overheads. Now we
_try_ to keep those to a minimum, but sometimes emulating unix on win32
comes with a cost..

Personally, I've used the cygwin port extensively and had to trouble
with performance.

As with everything, performance will be relative. Follow the standard
guidelines for squid in terms of ram and HD, and keep an eye on latency.
