[squid-users] Puzzled at refresh_pattern.

Hi, pals!

Here is a statement taken from squid.conf.

# refresh_pattern . 0 20% 4320

I noticed that there is a dot "." after "refresh_pattern".
What does the dot mean? Can you give me a simple explanation?
