[squid-users] netcache as parent

hi!
   im trying to use my netcache applicance as a parent proxy of my
squid. but it seems that all urls are being fetched directly by my
squid. my squid server has 1 public and 1 private ip address. it can
also query dns. my netcache is on-top of my network.
i have this line in my squid.conf:

cache_peer netcache_ip_address parent 3128 3130

what else i missed?
