[squid-users] Unable to access site through squid 2.4

Hello,

I am running Squid 2.4 Stable 4 as an authenticting proxy on Red Hat Linux
7.1. When I attempt to go to the site,
http://www.hsnet.nsw.gov.au:8080/~execs, I get the following error:

ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: <http://www.hsnet.nsw.gov.au:8080/~execs>
The following error was encountered:
* Connection Failed
The system returned:
    (111) Connection refused
The remote host or network may be down. Please try the request again.
Your cache administrator is webmaster <mailto:webmaster>.

Generated Mon, 24 Jun 2002 23:33:51 GMT by courtesan3 (Squid/2.4.STABLE4)

The Squid Access log contains the following messages regarding this
connection attempt.

When I connect directly to the site without passing through the proxy, it
connects straight away.
