Got the 2.5 version, and checked out the TOS directive. However, the
comments on it are not that insightful to me so maybe you can help me;

  This is the directive description

# acl normal_service_net src 10.0.0.0/255.255.255.0
# acl good_service_net src 10.0.1.0/255.255.255.0
# tcp_outgoing_tos 0x00 normal_service_net 0x00
# tcp_outgoing_tos 0x20 good_service_net

 So, let's suppose that I have one internal network interface addressed
10.40.50.1, and two external NICs, one for each WAN link, addressed
200.160.107.129 and 130, normal and good service links, respectively.

  The acl 'normal_service_net' describes the net who will use the normal
quality link and the 'good_service_net' describes the net that'll use the
good quality link', I believe.
Then the following flags 'mark', the traffic

 # tcp_outgoing_tos 0x00 normal_service_net 0x00
# tcp_outgoing_tos 0x20 good_service_net

But how exactly the traffic from, say, good_service_net is forwarded to the
good quality link NIC or to the good quality link router, or am I getting
it all wrong?

Well, grab 2.5, and look at the squid.conf.default. Also, please keep
the thread on-list.
