Hello all:
I have this working on Squid 2.5 stable 3 but need to know if it would work
on 2.4 stable 6 and what I would need to change if it does (I don't see
"external" as an option in 2.4) I also read (Squid, the Definitive Guide -
O'REILY) that this is not part of 2.4 stable 6, so is there any other way to
get it working?

I have the following in 2.5:

     external_acl_type browser_header_auth %SRC /etc/squid/ident2.pl
     acl browser_auth external browser_header_auth
     http_access allow browser_auth

ident2.pl will look at the IP address and check it compare it to the log
file of my NT IAS server. If there is a match it gives back the username
like this:
ok, user="username" If no match then: err, user="bad".

This works very good in 2.5-3 but I need it in 2.4-6.because I have a
content filter on this box that will not work with 2.5.
