Okay,

I recently discovered Squid and only installed it a couple of days ago. I
have only been on this list for about 24hrs but I've had a chance to
browse through the mailinglist archive. Recently there was a discussion
about Squid's usefulness in regards to clients using Netscape
Communicator.

Was there a workaround finally posted?

It is clearly obvious that Netscape Communicator 4.01b6 does not benefit
from using Squid as a caching proxy. In my case, I spend the majority of
my time browsing the web from my bookmarks or from typing in the
adddresses directly which is exactly when Communicator seems to send
REFRESH requests.

For now I am going to go back to 3.01 since it is working as I would
expect.

Finally, has someone attempted to get in touch with Netscape to get this
fixed or made configurable?
