RE: efficency of squid

I am finding that squid caches http well but ftp not quite as well. I
download from both home and work and find that files i know i have
downloaded at home are not cached when i get to work.

I changed the size of my cache to 3 gig and the largest cached
downloadable object to 50 meg. I don't get it?
Squid 1.1.21 RPM version is running on a redhat 5.0 distribution.
