Rob,

Try http://cs.anu.edu.au/campus_only/comp4700/handouts01/tut01.4.ps.

I simply get

The page cannot be displayed
...
Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer

and in access.log,

988707570.229 2 172.18.25.98 TCP_DENIED/407 1451 GET
http://cs.anu.edu.au/c
ampus_only/comp4700/handouts01/tut01.4.ps - NONE/- text/html
988707570.236 2 172.18.25.98 TCP_DENIED/407 1521 GET
http://cs.anu.edu.au/c
ampus_only/comp4700/handouts01/tut01.4.ps - NONE/- text/html

I have 2.5 running on port 8080, and 2.4.S1 on port 80 - 2.4 gets an
authentication dialogue, 2.5 the above error.

TIA for the tarball.

Cheers

Can you provide some sites that show that behaviour? Is it consistent?

I'll email you a tarball later tonight of the current source tree. It
won't fix your ntlm-auth build problem, but it may provide some more
details on the other problems

The other problem is that you can't access some Internet sites that
require authorization - the proxy doesn't seem to proxy the
authorization request. I'm not sure what authentication methods are
affected.

I also have some problems with the NTLM authentication (using
squid-head-200104232300), but our firewall doesn't allow CVS access to
the outside world. Is there a way to download a whole branch from CVS
using the web frontend, or is there some other solution ? Opening up
ports on the firewall is not an option :(

...
I'd like you to try the bleeding edge NTLM code and tell me if it fixes
this problem for you, - its accessed via CVS from squid.sourceforge.net.

The cvs branch (tag) you want is ntlm.
