[squid-users] cache.log reporting old version

Hi,

I have a number of Squid boxes running Solaris 8..

Everytime a new 2.4 is released I generally upgrade.

I've never really had a problem except with one box.

No matter what I do when I start Squid it reports to be starting 2.4STABLE2
in the cache.log file which was the version I installed when the box was
built.

I always do a make clean before I run a make.

I've tried rm -Rf /usr/local/squid and deleted my cache directories and
removed any trace of Squid off the box before I install the new version.

I use a fresh squid.conf file too but no matter what I do I get 2.4STABLE2
in the cache.log file.

Now the box runs fine but I don't really know if I'm running STABLE7 (which
it should be) or STABLE2 (which it shouldn't).

You could argue that this isn't a problem as the box is working but I would
still like to know what's amiss. I've had a look around but have not found
anything.

Thanks for you time.

Matthew
